Job Description
Responsibilities & Duties:
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair operational equipment within the designated area.
Complete work orders associated with assigned equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance of all assigned equipment to assure maximum equipment effectiveness.
Assist in monitoring and communicating specific spare parts needs, utilizing Standard Operating Procedures in the removal and ordering of storeroom parts or supplies.
Provides solutions to issues or opportunities that contribute to the operation in the areas of Quality, Safety and Productivity.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency
Two years as a mechanic on packaging machinery in an industrial plant or manufacturing facility
Good communication skills and the ability to operate well in a team environment
Skilled in the areas of welding, pipe fitting, gearbox/coupling and troubleshooting
The ability to read and interpret blueprints or other forms of engineering drawings
The ability to proficiently operate all shop equipment including, but not limited to; lathe, mill, drill press, hydraulic press, and necessary hand tools.
Basic computer skills and math knowledge
The ability to stand on concrete floors for an extended period, climb narrow stairs or ladders repeatedly, work in confined spaces, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds during the shift.
The ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to successfully complete required skills testing.
