Job Description:

The Grief Clerk works with the receiving, warehouse, quality, and material departments to resolve material issues found primarily in the warehouse. Responsible for evaluating, recording, and tracking supplier material issues and for processing the returned materials from customers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review in the review of supplier shipment histories vs. receiving transactions to identify potential sources of inventory discrepancies.

  • Maintain and monitor data for repeat errors and notify appropriate personnel of required actions to eliminate future occurrences.

  • Work from a variety of source documents to verify part numbers, part locations and quantities.

  • Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies and notify appropriate personnel of results or required actions.

  • Review aged open shipments and alerts, receiving personnel and material planners as appropriate to resolve or eliminate inventory discrepancies.

  • Ensure grief and receiving processes and procedures are updated and communicated.

  • Work with customer returns.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Must have Logistics/Warehouse experience.

  • Must have intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications.

  • Sufficient math skills in order to measure, read and record detailed measurements accurately.

  • Ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills to identify and remedy problems with issues related to the receiving process and quality issues with non-conforming parts.

  • Working knowledge of inspecting.

  • Ability to communicate with Purchasing, Quality, Sales Representatives, and other departments both verbally and in writing in order to discuss quality issues and resolve conflict.

  • Enter accurate and reliable data into various computer systems.

  • Basic ability to read and interpret various engineering drawings.

  • Knowledge of receiving processes in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to move equipment and/or materials weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Oracle software.

  • Inventory control experience.

  • An understanding of a logistics processes.

  • Intermediate proficiency in functional areas of logistics such as: Inventory Management, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Storeroom Operations and Transportation.

  • Excellent customer service focus and the ability to handle stress and often work at an urgent pace.

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Initiative, good analytical and organizational skill, and detail oriented.
