UNM Parking and Transportation Services has an opening for a Parking Equipment Tech in its Parking Operations division. The position requires performing work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
The successful candidate will demonstrate teamwork capabilities and have experience working in a construction or facility maintenance environment; have experience performing repairs and/or maintenance of parking lots and structures, use of asphalt related machinery; and demonstrated problem solving and communication skills. This position will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and maintenance of the University's parking pay station services and related support activities. This position will also be responsible the maintenance and cleaning of all university parking structures, ensuring compliance with all appropriate regulations, policies, and operating standards.
In addition to providing directions and great customer service to all patrons who visit our campus. Other duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Install, Preventative maintenance and repairs of Parking meters and Pay stations.
Design and set up Traffic control measures using D.O.T required equipment and set up by D.O.T traffic laws.
Performs street and parking lot marking and strip painting according to D.O.T requirements.
Perform routine maintenance and fabrication in non-trades plumbing, carpentry, painting and metal work (gas torch welding and cutting).
Perform snow removal, utilizing snowplows, salt spreaders and as required.
Install parking and traffic signs in or on concrete, asphalt and walls.
Performs Asphalt repair, Crack fill, Sealcoating and Patching
Perform general maintenance, custodial and trash removal tasks.
Perform clean-up of Biohazards such as Bloodborne Pathogens, Feces, Urine and other possible Biohazards.
Documents Parking Facilities maintenance requirements maintains appropriate records of work performed.
Performs maintenance on Asphalt, Concrete and Painting equipment.
Performs continuous improvement to workplace safety and environmental practices.
Perform Traffic Control as a Traffic officer, as needed.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
