Position summary:

Writing Center Consultants will coach writers on their writing processes and their works in progress and develop a variety of strategies for supporting writers. They will continue learning about best practices in tutoring writing via reading Writing Center scholarship and will keep a learning journal. Other duties will include but not be limited to maintaining a clean Writing Center environment and creating tutoring appointments.

Minimum qualifications: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and completion of at least English 1110 or English 1120 with a grade of B or higher or the equivalent (such as placement into English 1120).

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred: Preferred: Applicants who have experience with writing in a language that is not their original language, or who have interest or experience in any kind of teaching, or who have facility with computer applications such as googledocs and spreadsheets or similar applications, or who have other special experience or skills that could be useful in their tutoring of writing.

Required:
