Role Overview

As an Accountant within the Interventional Solutions business unit at Varian, you will be part of small but experienced team that supports this emerging segment of the company. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape our go-forward approach, be cross-trained on broad range of accounting functions, and work on a variety of projects.

Roles & Responsibilities

Drive Excellence in Financial Recordkeeping and Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions, adjustments, and journal entries. Perform a broad range of month-end closing functions. Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

Guide the Way: Provide analysis to support decision-making and planning processes. Answer ad-hoc queries from other teams regarding accounting data and specific accounting topics.

Strengthen Tax Compliance: Assist in data extraction and review for European VAT filings.

Ensure Audit Excellence: Perform local internal control activities and coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support.

Champion Innovation: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Implement best practices and recommend changes to existing procedures as needed.

Bolster Team Resiliency: Through cross-training, development a broad skill set to be able to back up other members of the team.

Core Requirements

  • Degree in accounting/finance and 3-5 years of experience in general accounting
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Be internally motivated/a self-starter
  • Possess an analytical mindset with a natural curiosity about business issues, drivers, and solutions
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral

The base pay range for this position is

Min $70,100 - Max $122,800

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
