Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking to fill a General Engineer position at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). The position is part of the NASA Sounding Rocket Operations Contract, NSROC/WSMR-Launch Vehicle Engineering group. This position will support the NASA Sounding Rocket Program, WSMR is a remote site and will require an individual to be able to work both independently and in a team environment. Applicant will work on a variety of projects. The candidate will support sub-system assembly and integration, testing, and operation throughout the entire mission life cycle.

Responsibilities:

    Applicant will be able to work from procedures, engineering drawing/schematic and formal direction. The applicant is required to develop a technical understanding of the functioning of the various assigned systems and be able to make sound, responsible decisions regarding their handling and operation.
  • Support Launch Vehicle sub-systems Hazardous Operations
  • Printed Circuit Board Assembly, Programming, Testing and Inspection
  • Wire Harness Assembly, Repair and Testing
  • Maintain hardware logs and draft reports from test or flight data products
  • Draft and Review test procedures
  • Must be to pass work physical for Ordnance Handler, Bridge Crane Operator, Forklift Operator.

Travel is required to accomplish training, testing and mission support. Travel is expected to be less than 15% time.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering or other STEM field with a minimum of two years experience, In lieu of degree High School and 6 or more years of experience.
  • Associates degree in a STEM field with 4 years or more experience with environmental testing
  • Experience with OrCad Capture or other electrical schematic software program

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Data Acquisition and Environmental Test Equipment such as: M+P Vibpilot Data Acquisition System, ESPEC Thermal Chamber, Accutronic Rate Table AC117

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
