Demonstrates knowledge base of medical supplies used in the Anesthesia department.
Maintenance, ordering, stocking of supplies, maintain anesthesia carts, epidural cart, malignant hyperthermia cart, and difficult airway cart per par level and in a timely manner.
Between cases clean and set up appropriate anesthesia equipment and supplies needed for cases: Monitors, arterial lines, I.V. setups, circuits and masks, suction liners, tubing and tips, blood administration equipment and heated blood circuits, triple transducers, invasive monitoring lines and equipment.
Removes broken equipment from use and takes appropriate steps to ensure equipment is repaired.
Cleans and restocks all airway emergency anesthesia carts and supplies.
Able to respond appropriately in an emergency situation.
Practice universal precautions involving all patient care. Handle and dispose of sharps and biological matter appropriately.
Assures equipment is in operating order prior to use.
Obtains necessary training prior to initial equipment use.
Uses medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer's operating guidelines
